Parliamentary Working Group on Gagauzia

The Parliamentary Working Group on Gagauzia is the only institutional political dialogue platform dedicated to the effective functioning of the Gagauz autonomy in the Republic of Moldova.

The Working Group is made up of representatives from all parties of the Moldovan Parliament and all interest groups and stakeholders in the People’s Assembly, 35% of whom are women. The Group engages in both informal and formal dialogue processes to enable the development of joint solutions to common problems.

Following a mandate from the Speaker of the Moldovan Parliament, the group began its parliamentary dialogue between Chisinau and Comrat in 2015, and the dialogue continues today with continued support from the Speaker, making it the most sustainable dialogue platform working on these issues to date.
